Transcendental Mediation (TM) is a very simple, natural, effortless technique that is done sitting comfortably twice a day for 20 mins. The mind and body come to experience a state of restful alertness: Transcendental Consciousness. This state of consciousness was found by Robert K. Wallace in 1970 in Harvard, to be as important as the other three states of consciouness, waking, dreaming and sleeping. With the meditator experience a level of rest deeper than at the deepest point of deep sleep.
"Before TM I was unhappy. Life was difficult and had become increasingly so. Struggles with anxiety, depression, doubt and general confusion were rife. I would constantly think life should not be this way. It wasn't right, I felt hollow, something missing. EVERYTHING I did was in constant search for this solution. The more I tried and the more time went on, the less I felt myself.
I then learn't TM and there was a change. I sit and close my eyes for 20 minutes twice every day and effortlessly experience profound physical relaxation at the same time as greatly increased alertness/awareness. Fundamentally I experience my Self, my real self. I found what was missing, my search over.
This Self is larger than any individualness I'd experienced before and at the same time the most I'd ever felt myself. It's a field of peace, creativity, dynamism, unboundedness, it's absolute. It is a state of pure being, pure consciousness, the source of thinking.
I'm now very happy. I feel whole and totally me. I'm plugged in, connected, integrated to life. TM has given myself back. This is life, it's beautiful :)"

"This is a donut. It is very sweet, and very good. But if you've never tasted a donut, you wouldn't really know how sweet and how good a donut is... meditation is like that. Transcendental Meditation gives an experience much sweeter than the sweetness of this donut."

"Generation after generation man is born anew. Each generation gives rise to new aspirations in life and brings a new quest for fulfillment. Each man needs sound physical and mental health, greater ability in action, a greater capacitiy to think clearly, increased efficiency in work, and more loving and rewarding relationships with others. He needs enough vitality and intelligence to satisfy the desires of his mind and bring contentment to his life. We have seen that all this can be gained through the regular practise of Transcendental Meditation."
